Referendum Version of the Sutton Neighbourhood Plan
The Neighbourhood Planning (Referendums) Regulations 2012
The independent examiner, Mr David Kaiserman, has completed the examination process and concluded that, subject to a number of recommendations (principally for changes to the detailed wording of some policies), the Sutton Neighbourhood Plan would meet the basic conditions, and consequently that, as modified, it should proceed to referendum. The Sutton Neighbourhood Plan has been updated in line with the modifications recommended by the independent examiner. The latest version (v4.0 referendum version) will now be the subject of a referendum of the registered electors within Sutton parish.
The independent examiner's report can be found here (opens PDF in a new window).
The referendum on Sutton Neighbourhood Plan will take place on Thursday 24th June 2021. The referendum question will be:
-
‘Do you want Central Bedfordshire to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Sutton Neighbourhood Planning Area to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’
The referendum will be conducted by the Central Bedfordshire Council elections team in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (Referendums) Regulations 2012.
The polling station will be at Sutton Village Hall, those entitled to vote by post will receive postal votes in the normal way.
